About Me

A coeliac and gut health dietitian.

Hi, I’m Jessica Milliner

I’m a mum of three, living with coeliac disease myself, and right in the thick of that messy, magical season of early 40s (hello, perimenopause and unpredictable guts!).

With over 10 years of experience as an Accredited Practising Dietitian, I help busy women improve their gut health and reclaim their energy, comfort and confidence through personalised nutrition support that goes beyond the basics.

Let’s face it, credible, expert guidance for coeliac disease and gut issues is hard to come by. And when symptoms persist, generic advice just doesn’t cut it.

That’s where I come in. With me, you’ll get practical support from someone who understands both the science and the real-life know how it takes to get your gut back on track – because I live this stuff too.

My goal? To help you feel well, eat freely, and have the energy to show up in life fully.

My Story

“I was once told to follow a gluten-free diet to manage my coeliac disease… and that was it.”

It was around the same time I began my nutrition and dietetics degree almost 15 years ago. You’d think studying dietetics would prepare me, but one single lecture on coeliac disease wasn’t nearly enough to understand the ins and outs of gluten-free living — let alone the social, emotional, and long-term health impacts that come with it.

Sure, my Master’s degree gave me the nutrition foundations, but it was my lived experience with coeliac disease that opened my eyes to the gaps that existed:

  • Constantly worrying about gluten sneaking into my diet.

  • Feeling left out socially, or too anxious to eat out safely.

  • Struggling with low energy, bloating, and ongoing gut issues despite being “gluten free.”

  • Feeling overwhelmed and confused by mixed messages online.

And like so many women, I was juggling it all while raising three kids and working as a busy clinical dietitian. Life was full — but support for coeliac disease beyond “just eat gluten free” was nowhere to be found.

  • That’s when I realised there was a bigger problem: people with coeliac disease and chronic gut issues weren’t getting the guidance, confidence, or tools they truly needed to thrive.

When the pandemic hit, and telehealth opened doors, I saw an opportunity. I upskilled in all things coeliac disease and gut health, combined this with my personal journey, and launched my virtual clinic. My goal was simple: to make credible, personalised support accessible to anyone, anywhere in Australia.

Fast forward to today, and I’ve worked with women (and some men!) all across the country — helping them feel heard, supported, and empowered to take control of their health. Together we tackle not just gluten avoidance, but energy, gut health, nutrient gaps, and the confidence to enjoy food and life again.

Because at the end of the day, I know first-hand how exhausting it feels to “do everything right” and still not feel well. And I also know the relief of finally having someone in your corner who understands both the science and the lived reality.

Looking ahead, my mission is clear: to support women with coeliac disease and gut issues to restore energy, improve gut health, and feel confident navigating gluten-free life — without the overwhelm.

If you’re ready to uncover what’s really holding you back from feeling well, I’d love to support you.

  • "I stumbled across Jess’ Instagram page and really liked what she was sharing"

Finding out I had coeliac disease was an absolute shock to me as I was, and still am asymptomatic and nobody in my family are aware that they too might have It.

I didn’t know where to start, I felt so overwhelmed that I would often just skip meals because I wasn’t really sure what I could have and didn’t want to eat the wrong things.

I stumbled across Jess’ Instagram page and really liked what she was sharing so I decided to get in contact and then book the ‘Savvy Coeliac Program’ which was basically 3 months of constant support whilst I was beginning my journey.

I am honestly SO thankful for all the time and advice that Jess shared with me. Not only did I learn so much to help ease the journey but I also realised that with knowledge and power, this ‘disease’ could be something I can easily live with.

I feel super confident when doing the groceries, eating out and even eating at friends’ places. I feel very fortunate to have had Jess’s help over the past 3 months and highly recommend her to anyone who is seeking assistance with coeliac disease.

She is very easy to talk to and being coeliac herself, she just gets it!!

I am looking forward to sharing future results with Jess and being able to chat to her again!

  • "A friend who is a dietitian recommended Jessica"

Before working with Jessica, I was struggling with what to eat to maintain a balanced, varied diet that met my nutrient needs—particularly zinc and iron. I wanted to support my mental well-being, energy levels, and ability to exercise, but I felt overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Being newly diagnosed with Coeliac Disease, I found the psychological impact challenging—especially the changes it brought to my daily routine, social life, and family food traditions. I also really missed simple joys like porridge and was hoping to explore how I could safely reintroduce oats into my diet.

A friend who is a dietitian recommended Jessica, and I was drawn to her because of her unique combination of personal experience and professional expertise in Coeliac Disease. From our very first session, I felt understood, supported, and safe to ask questions without judgment.Since working with Jessica, I feel so much more confident in planning and preparing my meals. I now know how to create balanced, nutritious meals that leave me feeling energised and well-nourished. I’ve expanded my food variety, feel better equipped to minimise cross-contamination, and feel empowered to manage not only my own Coeliac journey but also to support my children if needed in the future.

Her advice was always tailored to my individual needs and goals, and I always felt comfortable and listened to.Working with Jessica has been such a positive and empowering experience—I now feel hopeful and better-equipped for the journey ahead.

  • "Thank you so much again for all your help Jess!"

Thank you so much again for all your help Jess! You have been incredible!

We were pretty fresh into GF life with 2 of my 3 children recently diagnosed. It felt very confusing and overwhelming for me. I was particularly struggling with gaps in the coeliac diet and bridging them to improve fibre and iron intake and also understanding labelling and identifying safe and not safe coeliac products in the supermarket.

I decided to work with Jess largely because being a coeliac herself and the added knowledge / experience of years of work in the dietetics field and working with children with “picky intake”.

I had also spoken to one previous dietitian whose advice felt very vague and generalised and didn’t help me feel confident in food choices for my girls whatsoever. Your advice and input was invaluable!

In working with Jess, I feel far more confident in choosing items when food shopping, understanding ingredient labels and where the shortfalls in a GF diet tend to be and how to better fill them so my children’s dietary needs are met. Helping me to feel more confident in food choices and preparation has also helped me to start teaching my girls how to better their eating and what foods are safe and what are not, and starting the process of how to advocate for themselves, cross contamination and how to choose “safe” foods and what questions to ask.

  • "Jess helped me to feel confident that I was on the right path "

I reached out to Jessica, after following her on Instagram for some time and really resonated with her content. The fact she was a Coeliac Dietitian and has this autoimmune disease herself, also filled me with confidence that she understood not just my dietary requirements, but my thoughts and feelings around circumstantial day to day experiences we encounter as Coeliacs.

I understand the disease and have lived with it for a few years, but my 10-year-old son was recently diagnosed and now I was needing advice from a different perspective.

Jess helped me to feel confident that I was on the right path for him, and guided me on ways I could ensure his nutrition was meeting his body's needs, as a growing boy.

  • "I decided to work with Jess after following her on Instagram"

Before reaching out to Jess we were concerned that my 12-year-old daughter wasn’t eating enough to full herself properly for all her sporting events. She doesn't like to eat meat and therefore I was after ideas on how I could ensure that her protein needs were met on the GF diet without forcing her to eat meat.

I decided to work with Jess after following her on Instagram and with multiple family members who had coeliac disease, it seemed a good fit. I had used dietitians in the past but they never quite understood the coeliac needs. I wanted someone who would be able to give me recommendations for my daughter that understood her needs. Her Instagram feed really got me feeling that she could help me with understanding my daughter’s nutritional needs.

Since working with Jess, my daughter now knows more about how to fuel better before and after sports as well as prepping her lunchbox with choices that will sustain her. We aren't fighting over dinner as much and she is more involved in what goes into her lunchbox. She is also having breakfast daily now which she wasn't prior to working with Jess. It also helped me understand things weren't as bad as what I thought and allowed me to relax a bit more too

  • "I decided to work with Jess after following her on Instagram"

    (Continued.)
While working with Jess my daughter made some big achievements. She completed a 10km swim and recovered well the next day. She is fuelling better before a game and not so tired afterwards. We aren't forcing her to eat meat she doesn't like as we know she can get the nutrients in other ways.

I was happy that we could achieve these results without my daughter physically being in the meeting as she’s not a big talker and would have been embarrassed. Jess took the time to get to know what my daughter liked and didn't like and offered solutions that would fit within her dietary restrictions as well her likes and dislikes. There was no judgement, just solutions that would work for our family (and with my daughter being 1 of 4 kids, it needed to work for all of us). I really liked that the first meeting was looking at her current diet in detail and then analysing that so we could pinpoint areas of concern rather than just guessing on a solution. Yes, it meant an extra meeting but it was very worthwhile so we could ensure that nutrients were met and how we could improve them.

I also liked that straight up Jess said it would likely be 3 sessions. There was no pressure to continually meet monthly to check in as the awkward breaking up was avoided. It actually makes me appreciate Jess more for that.

  • "I didn’t think I had more to learn after being a coeliac for so long. But I was wrong."

I didn’t think I had more to learn after being a coeliac for so long. But I was wrong.

I’ve worked with some dietitians in the past, but I felt they had a very general understanding of coeliac disease. I came across Jessica on Google and I am so thrilled to have found her. Being a coeliac herself, I felt she would finally understand me and not give me general advice.

Jessica provided education where I needed it. She hasn’t just thrown me advice to eat this and that, but she has actually educated me and tailored everything to my needs, lifestyle and understood it is not realistic to completely overhaul everything, but that the slow and steady approach is best. I have been so excited about this and now just look at meals and think “how can I best optimise this’. It hasn’t felt draining or hard.

As a result, I’ve felt my energy improve drastically and now I’m fully aware of what me body needs. Whilst I’m still learning, I know with the support of Jessica I will keep reaching my health goals.

I am so grateful to Jessica for her approach and care.

  • "Jess has given me a new lease on life!"

I’ve been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease for 10+ years, and I approached Jess to help me with my gut health and overall health.

From the start Jess was amazing, she was easy to speak to and has a world of knowledge that makes it easy to understand. It’s even better speaking with someone who fully understands coeliac disease.

Jess has improved my diet to include more whole foods and helped me get back on the road with eating strictly gluten free as I was slowly drifting. I feel like a new person with lots of more energy. By adjusting my diet to include foods that that my body was low in has improved my mental health immensely!

  • "It was an incredibly impactful experience!"

I had the pleasure of seeing Jessica who specialises in coeliac disease, and it was an incredibly impactful experience! Jess was extremely insightful in understanding what is, or is not going to work for my diet given my lifestyle and other demands.

I appreciated how Jess understood the wider impact of being a coeliac on quality of life and offered realistic and practical solutions. Jess helped me with my intention to navigate my diet as a whole (including eating internationally!) and for that I am grateful. She took the time to explain everything I needed to know about managing the tricks of being a coeliac - and more!

  • "I came across Jess and straight away I knew this was exactly what I needed."

After my 6 year daughter Everly was diagnosed with coeliac disease I was left feeling overwhelmed and stressed.

With limited information and resources within my local community to support us I began hours of searching online, whilst on Coeliac Australia's Instagram page I came across Jess and straight away I knew this was exactly what I needed.

Our first zoom call I explained to her how overwhelmed I was with everything, how anxious I was heading outside of the home with Everly and my constant stress about eating foods with enough nutritional value to support her growth and development.

From there I participated in the Savvy Coeliac Program and I am so glad I did, working through this program with Jess has been an absolute game changer for my family. Jess's knowledge and guidance has helped me to develop the confidence and skills to support Everly to thrive and live a coeliac safe lifestyle. Words can not describe how grateful and thankful I am to Jess and everything she has done for us.

    Highly recommend!

  • "I highly recommend just having a chat with Jessica"

    What a great program!

After being diagnosed with Coeliac disease I was at a loss of where to start and source information from!

This was very overwhelming for me as I am a busy mum to three young children and run a family business. When I came across Jessica's course, I contacted her straight away and after the first chat I knew the course was for me!

The information, guidance and support from Jessica and her course has helped me to broaden my knowledge of living with this disease and I feel confident to speak about my needs when eating out and importantly also with my family and friends.

I highly recommend just having a chat with Jessica about your concerns with living with CD and get the help like I did which has immensely helped me with my mental and physical wellbeing!

    Thanks again Jessica!
